READ THE ROOM

Welcome to Read the Room! Our names are Alexa DePalma, Rachel Little, Jay Napoliello, and Venesa Porter. We are a group of students engaging in a serious inquiry into an educational prejudice concerning the role reading plays in our becoming and developing as writers. We will also engage in four methods to help us read as writers. These methods include reading for mimesis and theme, close reading, reading for intertextuality, and reading for rhetoric of narratives. We chose Night, Supermarket, Reboot, and The Haunting of Hill House as our four books to focus on using the methods above. We hope you choose to follow us along on this journey and enjoy!
